Sibenik, a city and port in northern Dalmatia, not far from the estuary of the Krka river into the Bay of Sibenik, connected by narrow straits with the Sibenik Channel.

Sibenik is today a tourist centre situated in the area where the best-indented archipelago in Europe (Islands of Kornati) and karst hydrographical phenomena (Skradinski Buk, Visovac, Roski Waterfall) merge into the ecologically and aesthetically most attractive tourist and recreational zone on the Croatian Adriatic.

There are more than 100 catering establishments in Vodice, half of them offering various food (fish, mussels, crabs, pasta, traditional cuisine), including the old and original Dalmatian dishes. Vodice disposes of three tennis courts, a football field, as well as basketball and volleyball courts.

Accommodation Pirovac

Pirovac, a village and harbour 26 km northwest of Sibenik.

It is located in the lowland dominated by the elevation of Sveti Marko (St. Mark) (65 m). About 20 restaurants offer fish and meat specialities; during the tourist season local caterers organize regular seafood fiestas on Saturday evenings. Sports fishing enthusiasts may enjoy fishing at Vransko Lake, which hides capital speci-mens of pike, catfish and carp. The harbour is protected from all winds except the southerly ones; yachts drawing up to 2 m may dock along the pier.

The original scenery of an old Dalmatian town, the clean sea - according to records, probably the cleanest sea on the Adriatic, the rich sea flora and fauna make the sea of Tribunj suitable for swimming and underwater safari.

The sports and recreation opportunities of Tribunj include tennis, boccia, indoor football, yachting and diving schools. The Rupa cove as well as in several other smaller inlets west of the town offer nice beaches, with the Sovlja beach being the most beautiful among them.

Brodarica is a village located along the Adriatic coastal-road, 5 km south of Sibenik.

Most of its residents mainly work in the field of tourism. In the village itself and on nearby islands, which can be reached by available boat rentals, there are both sandy and rocky beaches.

Grebastica

Accommodation Grebastica

Grebastica a village in the bay of the same name, 14 km southeast of Sibenik.

The Luka Grebastica bay stretches in the direction east - west. From the north it is enclosed by the Vela Ostrica peninsula, and from the south by the mainland and an islet called Timara. Numerous smaller coves range along its northern coast. Larger yachts may dock southeast of the hill Ostrica, and smaller yachts and boats in any of the small coves along the northern coast.

Kaprije

Accommodation Kaprije

Kaprije, an island in the central part of the Sibenik archipelago, between the islands of Zmajan and Kakan, separated from them by the Zmajan and Kakan channels.

Smaller plots of arable land may be found in valleys, which also comprise olive-groves and vineyards. Chief occupations are farming, viticulture, olive growing, fishing and tourism. The only settlement, Kaprije, lies on the south-western coast of the island. The hamlet of Medos on the north-eastern coast is occasionally populated by the inhabitants of Murter who have their lands there.
