Malinska

a town, port and tourist centre in the north-western part of the island of Krk.

Due to very good connections with the mainland and mild climate, tourism started to develop at the beginning of the 20th century, which spread between the two world wars, particularly after the Second World War. The company Brodokomerc built in 1969 a high-category hotel in the cove of Haludovo. The port lies on the eastern coast of the anchorage ground of Malinska. The town has road connections with all towns and villages on the island.

Baška

Baška, a town and port on the south-eastern coast of the island of Krk, located in the northern part of Baska Draga.

Next to the old, compact part of the town, a new part with tourist facilities has been built, making Baska a well-known tourist destination. The main road (M2) connects Baska to the town of Krk (19 km). Together with good connection with the mainland (the bridge), ferry lines connect Baska with the island of Rab and with Senj.

Crikvenica

Crikvenica, a town in the region of Vinodol in the Croatian Primorje, 37 km southeast of Rijeka. It is located in the vicinity of the confluence point of the Dubracina brook, whose valley connects the town with the interior part of Vinodol.

Numerous pavilions (of all categories), apartments, rooms, the coast with long and well arranged public beaches, sports events and entertainment programs follow a century-old tradition of tourism in this town. Crikvenica has retained its original character of a health resort until today and the well-organized medical institution Thalassotherapia is a renowned sanatorium.

Novi Vinodolski

Novi Vinodolski, a town and harbour in the region of the Croatian Primorje, at the estuary of the river Suha Ricina in the Vinodol Channel.

Situated in the south-eastern part of the Vinodol flysh vale stretching from the northwest to the southeast and reaching the sea at Novi Vinodolski. Up to 1953 the town was called Novi. It consists of an older, compact part on the hill and the more recent one along the sea, southeast of the port with a promenade, tourist facilities and many villas.

Krk

Krk, a town, port and summer resort in the bay of the same name, on the south-western coast of the island of Krk; situated in the northern part of the bay.

The coastline is rocky, shallow in the west and deeper in the east. Njivice

Njivice,a small town and harbour at the western coast of the island of Krk, situated in the cove Beli Kamik.

The harbour is enclosed by a breakwater; the anchorage ground Beli Kamik is protected from the bora and the sirocco, but exposed to the winds from the third and fourth quadrants. Smaller vessels anchor in front of the coast, north of the town (depth 10-12 m), and larger vessels north and west of the town (depth 30-40 m). Njivice is located on the local road, a branch road of the regional road running through the island.

Silo

Silo, a village and port on the eastern coast of the northern part of the island of Krk, in the cove of Stipanja, opposite of Crikvenica.

The cove is protected from south and east winds by a narrow and low peninsula, which ends in the cape of the same name. Economy is based on farming and fishing. Silo is connected with the interior of the island of Krk by a regional road.

Vrbnik

Vrbnik, a small town and harbour in the central part of the north-eastern coast of the island of Krk; elevation 49 m.

It lies above the coast, on a limestone hill which, on the eastern side, overlooking the sea, terminates in a coastal precipice, while on the western side it descends into a valley, whose lower part is submerged and converted into a bay. The 7-km long local road connects Vrbnik with the main road leading through the island.

Punat

Punat, a small town, port and marina on the eastern part of the Puntarska (Kosljunska) Cove, separated by the Prniba peninsula from the Krk Bay, on the south-eastern coast of the island of Krk, 8 km southeast of the town of Krk.

Punat is one of the leading centres of yachting tourism on the Croatian coastline. The sea in front of the town is shallow, and the bottom muddy; towards the open sea, on the so-called Usta (Mouth), the depth is between 2.5 and 3 m.

Ravna Gora

Ravna Gora, a town in Gorski Kotar, 17 km to the west of Vrbovsko; elevation 816 m.

The surroundings abound in ski grounds for recreational skiing, so that Ravna Gora has recently become one of the ski centres for Nordic disciplines (FIS pist Pod Vugles, 874 m). Tennis and chess courses are organized in the town. Sports facilities include tennis courts, football fields and boccia alleys; the Bjelolasica restaurant offers local cuisine.

Crni Lug

Crni Lug, a village in Gorski Kotar, 12 km northwest of Delnice; elevation 726 m. It is located on the regional road Delnice - Mrzle Vodice - Gornje Jelenje.

The area of Crni Lug with an abundance of green meadows and water streams, and its surroundings - Mrzle Vodice with fishing opportunities, an excursion to the Kupa spring and an exceptionally educational trail in the Leska Valley (3,800 m long) with the original ecosystem - provides all prerequisites for rest and recreation.

Fuzine

Fuzine, a town in the central part of Gorski Kotar, situated above the Licanka valley, which was drowned into the storage lake Bajer after the construction of a dam.

A special attraction of the region is the Vrelo cave in the immediate vicinity of Bajer Lake, 3 km from Fuzine, which features most various forms. It is therefore called "the small Postojna". Due to its favourable geographical location amidst a mountain forest, an abundance of water and fresh mountain climate, Fuzine is a rather well known tourist resort.
