Dubrovnik, a town, port and tourist centre of the southern Croatian coast.

Dubrovnik is famous for quality hotels. Most of them are situated on the Lapad peninsula and in the area of Ploce, southeast of the old town. The hotel complex Dubrava - Babin Kuk on Lapad has all features of a small town. Because of a magnificent view on the mediaeval Dubrovnik, a walk along the town ramparts is a must for each visitor.

Mlini, a small harbour on the northern coast of the Zupa Bay, 11 km southeast of Dubrovnik.

The brooks and streams which flow from the nearby sources were once used for water mills; today, the natural fall of waters is used for a small hydro-electric power plant. The upper part of the hamlet (Trgoviste) lies along the main road. In the vicinity of the beach are the parish church of St. Hilarius from 1449 and the chapel of St. Roch (Rocco). Close to the church, on the way toward Cavtat, are the remains of Roman structures.

Molunat, a village on the coast of Sutorina in Konavle.

The peninsula of the same name, together with the mainland, encloses the coves of Donji (Veliki) Molunat in the north-west and Donji (Mali) Molunat in the south-east, partly protected by the islet of Veli Skolj (Supetric, 49 m). Chief occupations are farming and fishing. Molunat is located on a local road, a branching road of the main road (M2, E65).

Zaton, a village on the coast of the Zaton Bay, on the Dubrovnik Riviera, 8 km northwest of Dubrovnik.

Zaton has several fine restaurants. It offers possibilities for water sports. An interesting walk uphill to the village of Podbrezje is highly recom-mended (4.5 km), to visit Mociljska Cave with stalactites and stalagmites.

Slano, a village and small harbour in the bay of the same name; 37.5 km northwest of Dubrovnik.

Farming, olive-growing, viniculture, fruit-growing, tobacco, herbs (sage, laurel, woodworm), fishing and tourism are chief occupations. Slano lies on the main road (M2, E65). Yachts can anchor in the small protected Banja cove. Anchoring-ground for larger yachts lies off the entrance in the cove, to the southwest of Cape Gornji.

Forests and subtropical vegetation largely cover the island. he only place on the island is Kolocep. The hamlet of Celo, situated on the north-western coast, is protected from the bora by a limestone cliff. Celo has sand and pebble beaches and a park with numerous species of subtropical flora.

Brsecine is one of the favourite excursion destinations of the citizens of Dubrovnik. In the cove southeast of Cape Osmolis is a nice shore.
